National Data Protection Agency is now a municipality

approved in the Federal Senate plenary the transformation of ANPD - National Data Protection Agency into a municipality.

ANPD is the federal agency that regulates and oversees the application of the General Personal Data Protection Law (LGPD). It was born linked to the Presidency of the Republic, but with this change, it receives greater administrative and financial autonomy. This transformation brings more reliability to the regulatory data protection system.

In addition, the approved MP makes some other changes, such as the creation of a commissioned position of CEO of ANPD and allocation of current servers in the new municipality, without increasing expense.

Other structural changes are also foreseen as rules for personnel requisition, transfer of assets and personnel from other public administration bodies or entities.
